Details

A revolution in external frame technology, the Ox features a recurve aluminum frame that is shaped to offer a superior center of gravity while still being lightweight and mobile. We like to think of ourselves as scientists but without all those fancy degrees. Ergonomics, physics, biomechanical engineering, we’ll dabble in everything to make sure we’re producing the absolute best in load carrying technology. Remember that frame pack you took to scout camp 40 years ago? Well most "hunting pack companies" are still using that technology....not Badlands. In simple terms, this frame makes it possible to carry insane loads with surprising ease.

OX FRAME is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This pack rocks! I've used this pack on several different occasions and all I can say is Wow! The fit and comfort level are incredible. I packed out the whole hind quarters of a mature mule deer and not once did I experience any discomfort, unlike other packs in the past. The side pockets are a huge plus; just the right size for extra equipment. I highly recommend this pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waiting to use This frame pack it nice and light weight and seems to be built like a beast. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but plan to haul some whitetails out of the rugged mountains of western Maryland.

Hello I got the ox external pack frame for Christmas and now I would like the purchase the extra backpack part for it but am having the hardest time finding it. Perhaps I'm just not looking for it in the right place. Anything with help. Thanks

Asked by: Bobby
Hey Bobby, The pack portion of the Ox was discontinued a couple years ago. We do not sell it seperately unfortunately. The new Ox, which has been renamed as the Beast of Burden, will be available sometime in 2017. Keep an eye out for that! If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

What is the carrying capacity of the Oz?

Asked by: Wudstix
The Ox Frame does not have any compartments other than the hip belt pockets. Which would probably be around 300 ci each. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

Can a pack be attached to the ox

Asked by: Badlands addicted
Hey Kevin, The Ox Frame use to be available as a whole kit called the Ox Pack (Pack & Frame Included). This item was discontinued as well as the Ox Frame. We just have the Frame left in stock now. The new version (Beast of Burden) will be released within the next year or so. This will be available in the frame or pack portions. We do not have any other packs that attach to this specifically. That being said, you can use any pack and throw the shoulder straps over the horizontal cross beam on the Ox Frame and secure the pack. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email and we will gladly help you! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

When will you be releasing the new ox pack?

Asked by: whitehawk
Hey Gavin, The Beast of Burden(New Ox) is still in the design process and there is not a specific ETA for it. Honestly, we are working very hard to make this pack the best out there and are still playing with a few ideas. We are shooting for an ETA of the end of the year, but that is not concrete. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email. 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

Hello, I own your Badlands Ox Pack, frame only.  Was wondering which of your packs actually fit this frame pack?  Thanks for the direction, I own several of your packs but can't seem to find which packs were designed to go along with the Ox Frame.  Thx!

Asked by: Kurt
Hey Kurt, The Ox Pack was desgined to fit on the Ox Frame, however, they have both been discontinued and we are sold out of the Ox Pack. However, we never sold the Ox Pack separate from the Ox Frame, you would have had to buy the whole kit with the frame and pack together if that makes sense. The new version of the Ox will be available sometime in 2017 and will be completely redesigned from the original Ox. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email. 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

I am not the brightest bulb in the box but I don't see the built in meat shelf. Is it the blaze orange material and does it strap at the top? (Haven't put my hands on it)

Asked by: Flycamp
Hey Kip, Yes, the blaze orange material is the Meat Shelf. It allows you to place loads of meat in between the frame and the shelf. It can handle far more weight than one person can carry! The meat shelf attaches to the top of the frame. Don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email if you have more questions and we will gladly help you! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

I am looking at the ox frame and I measured my torso length and I am exactly 21"........would the medium be too short to be comfortable or would the large be too long to be comfortable? Please help with choosing the right size!!!!!

Asked by: Robert8675309
Hey Robert, I would go with the Medium, as you can always adjust the pack so that it goes lower on your hips if needed using the shoulder straps adjustment webbing. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email and we will gladly help you out! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.
