The Badlands RAP18 Tactical Pack was designed with one goal in mind - DON’T BE A SQUARE. As in, who wants to carry that heavy, square-shaped, bland, featureless tactical pack around? It was time for someone to combine form, function, load carrying and general badassery into a tactical pack. Badlands was up for the challenge, and here’s the answer.

The RAP18 Tactical Backpack has all the features for your next excursion, stakeout, hunt, raid...you name it. With Badlands iconic Hypervent™ Suspension for ventilation, abundant MOLLE webbing for accessory attachment and Hypalon reinforced stress points, the RAP18 is not your grandfather’s "standard issue" war pack. Hydration reservoir capability, rear compression straps and a hideaway rifle boot finish off what is the most durable and lightweight pack you’ll ever wear. The Badlands Tactical packs are all covered by our legendary Unconditional Lifetime Warranty, making paranoia of running your gear too hard a thing of the past. The RAP18 begs you to call it to duty...it is yet to disappoint.

RAP-18 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all around pack! This pack is awesome for fitting everything from day hike to multi day backpacking. The only drawback to this back is how small the opening is for the main compartment. It zips open only the very top of the bag, this makes finding what head you need difficult when you have it loaded. If the opening came to halfway down the bag it would make if so much more useable. Bought it with the intention to be for traveling and short backpacking trips, it will stay for backpacking but inconvient to get the gear you want out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Scouting Trip I had the RAP18 delivered a few weeks ago and promptly packed it for a scouting trip I had planned for the weekend of May 6-7 2017. The pack is light, very ergonomically well designed, and able to carry all of the things I needed on this trip. I backcountry bow and rifle hunt and head to higher elevations to get access to bigger, less stressed animals, so lightweight but strength in construction is key for me. I like the fact that it has a gunboot; my Winchester Defender shotgun was most certainly packed along on this trip (we were in big cat country, can never be too prepared). The pack is spacious inside, and well designed with ability to attach items anywhere externally via the webbing, including a tent and sleeping bag. I wanted a pack that I could also use in non hunting situations, and one that is not in camo so as to not stand out too much on regular hiking trails. I highly recommend this pack in terms of attention to detail, versatility, comfort, pack volume, and quality of materials. Well done Badlands, the RAP 18 is a welcome addition to my Badlands family of hunting packs.

How well do the main compartments open up? Would a bone in elk quarter be able to slide down inside? Could I see some additional pictures of all the compartments and the bottom of the bag? Thanks

Asked by: Buffblazer
Honestly, an elk quarter would have a tough time fitting inside the main compartment on the Rap-18. I would say that it wouldn't be wide enough for one. I would recommend the 2200 for hauling heavy amounts of meat out! It also has a built in meat shelf so you don't even have to put the meat inside the compartments at all. What would be a better hiking and camping pack the RAP-18 or the BOS

Asked by: MikeFontana
Hey Mike, Honestly, both of them would be awesome! It really is all personal preference for the specific features that each one has. I would recommend ordering both of them and then returning the one that you do not like. Check out our Return/Exchange process on our website. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

Does RAP 18 fits a 13in Laptop? does it have some kind of sleeve like HDX? How can I accommodate a flat surface in a curve frame? (HDX it's too small!!!)

Asked by: Alvarobq
Hey Alvaro, It will definitely fit a lap top, I would recommend putting the laptop in the secondary compartment as the main compartment doesn't have a specific laptop sleeve. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email and we will gladly help you! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

I noticed an additional strap on the topside face of the pack that is included in some pictures but not all. Is this a feature on all current production stock or a feature to be released in next years model? Also when will the Serengeti be back in stock?

Asked by: Bend
Hey Kirk, The strap you are seeing is a removable strap that we call the "Everything Strap". There are two of these everything straps that come with the pack. The Serengeti color will not be in stock again unfortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience, we in the process of redesigning some of our tactical packs. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email and we will gladly help you! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

how does this pack compare to the 2200 pack in overall size and capacity?

Asked by: kzeller
Honestly, the current 2200 model is closer to 2700 cubic inches, whereas the Rap-18 is about 2100 cubic inches. So they is quite a big difference in capacity. Both are great packs though, and the Rap-18 has some awesome features that the 2200 doesn't have and visa versa.
