Rated 5 out of 5 by from Summit pack I have been a guide for many years and understand the pressure I put on my gear is much greater than the average outdoors person. For this reason I always try to purchases the very best equipment that is made. The first Badlands product I purchased was a 2200 backpack for deer and elk hunting in Wyoming. The 2200 had everything a hunter would want in a pack, big pockets, good zippers, storage at my fingertips, and a meat rack. Badlands put a lot of thought into designing this pack and would recommend the 2200 to all hunters. Well I went on another outing and was going to be staying in the mountains for an extended time, I needed to be able to pack in a little more than my 2200 would allow. No questions, where was I going to turn to, Badlands. I ordered the Summit pack, it will hold more than any man can carry. It is made to adjust to any person, it comes in sizes medium and large and in these sized will adjust to any torso you may have. As all of Badlands products well designed, rugged, great looks and comfortable to carry. I will suggest if you are looking for a pack that is well made and will last a lifetime, go get a Badlands pack.

What is the physical difference between the Summit Medium and Large sized packs? I read in a review that the Hip Belt can be replaced but is there a different in the frame length?

Asked by: Tomoz
Yes, the differences are mainly the torso length as well as the hip belt length. The torso lengths are listed above in the specs of the Summit pack. I don't see a way for this to haul meat, other than stuffing it inside the pack....is there a way i cant see to haul it on the outside of the pack?

Asked by: E Mc
Hey Eron, With the Summit, you can either haul meat inside the main compartment, or you can attach it to the outside using the compression straps. I would say that it is more designed to carry meat inside the main compartment if you are carrying quarters. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email at 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

I read somewhere this pack can fit 3l of water so I ordered (from cabelas) the badlands 3l hydration reservoir. But your website says only 2l will fit. Will the 3L reservoir be able to fit in the summits hydration compartment?

Asked by: NW Hunter XP
No, the Summit only holds up to a 2 liter water reservoir. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email at 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

Is it designed to pack out an elk?  How?

Asked by: Jonmon
It is designed to carry an extreme amount of weight. The way you would hall out an elk is either stuffing the meat inside the main compartment or strapping it to the outside using the external compression straps. Does the summit have a pouch for your sidearm like some of the other packs (Superday pack) do?

Asked by: CO DiverHunter
Hey Brian, It does not have a built in pistol holster. That being said, it has spots on the hip belt where you can attach an actual pistol holster. If you have any more questions at all, give us a call or shoot us an email! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.

How do i attach my compound bow to my Badlands Summit backpack. Illustrations please if possible.

Asked by: Chuck 1951
Hey Chuck, There isn't a specific way to do so. It is designed to be universal with many options depending on the persons preferences and equipment. Most of the time you should just use the compression straps that are all over this pack to secure it however you like across the back of the pack. Give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any more questions and we will gladly help you! 1-800-269-1875 or info@badlandspacks.com.
